The project aims to provide free swimming instruction during physical education classes to 1,560 children.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swimming is an invaluable skill that not only teaches children to move safely in the water, but also supports their physical, mental and emotional development. This project is an example of how we can work together to contribute to the healthy development and well-being of our children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our goal is to ensure all 3rd and 4th-grade public school students in Petr\u017ealka learn swimming basics and improve their abilities. Through this project and Lucron&#8217;s support, every Petr\u017ealka child will receive high quality swimming instruction,&#8221; said Iveta Jan\u010dokov\u00e1, First Deputy to Petr\u017ealka Mayor J\u00e1n Hr\u010dka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">High Quality Swimming Instruction with Professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SportInstitute, a Slovak Swimming Federation member, uses its own methodology approved by Comenius University&#8217;s Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. They have already taught over 12,000 Bratislava primary school students to swim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;At SportInstitute, we know regular exercise makes people healthier. Our Future Champions initiative uses free swimming lessons to develop discipline, perseverance, passion, appreciation for exceptional moments, and cooperation in children,&#8221; said SportInstitute Chairman Ivan Kri\u0161tof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slavom\u00edr Hab\u00e1nik, Lucron&#8217;s Development Director, added: &#8220;In our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nesto.sk\">Nesto<\/a> scheme, we&#8217;re working to create an environment with high quality sports facilities and active leisure opportunities. We believe such environments enhance quality of life and motivate residents toward healthy lifestyles. We consider swimming to be a key skill and hope this program will increase children&#8217;s water safety confidence and get involved more in sports generally.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All Petr\u017ealka Primary Schools to Participate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project includes all Petr\u017ealka primary schools (except Pank\u00fachova, which has its own pool), involving 71 classes and 1,560 students. Free swimming lessons at the Petr\u017ealka swimming pool will be part of physical education until 28 March 2025.
