On Saturday, 18 April, Floriánska Street hosted a standout event — the Porsche Fans Slovakia Gallery, which drew the attention of residents and passers-by alike. The street was lined with iconic models from the renowned automotive brand, brought to Vydrica in collaboration with Porsche Fans Slovakia.
Sports cars on Floriánska Street
Visitors had the opportunity to see some of the most sought-after sports cars up close, including the 718 Spyder RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, models from the 911 (992) range, as well as the Taycan and Panamera.
“The Porsche Fans Slovakia Gallery in Vydrica was conceived as a relaxed urban gathering, where high-performance sports cars are presented in a different light,” explains Lukáš Turčina, co-founder of Porsche Fans Slovakia. “Rather than focusing on speed and noise, the idea was to present them as part of an open-air gallery set against the backdrop of spring.” This concept attracted hundreds of visitors, offering a new way to experience these vehicles.
“The cars are displayed in the streets as design objects, naturally integrated into the architecture and public space. This creates a contrast between their performance and how they are perceived — not as dynamic sports cars, but as part of the urban environment,” adds Lukáš Turčina.
Vydrica as a vibrant urban space
A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere prevailed throughout the day, enhanced by Vydrica’s local venues. Visitors experienced a natural blend of automotive culture and everyday city life within the neighbourhood.
Guests could also step inside the ceramic studio Muoi Atelier, where they gained insight into the creative process and craftsmanship behind the brand. Children took part in workshops, creating their own clay pieces, while the School of Arts complemented the programme with its ceramic courses.
Automotive enthusiasts were equally drawn to the artisan bakery KRUH, which extended its opening hours, offering the perfect setting to enjoy a sunny afternoon on the terrace with excellent coffee and freshly baked goods.
Continuing the events season
Porsche Day is part of a broader series of events included in this year’s programme at Vydrica. The season began with an Easter egg hunt, with upcoming highlights including the start of the cycling season and the Varga Triathlon.
As the weather improves, Vydrica continues to establish itself as a lively urban space for community and cultural events.
